What is a TCG or a Trading Card Game?
It’s an online game where cards or images are traded between members of a site. The cards usually have topics of interest on them.
This is where you trade cards! Your cards are the rectangular images you see on this site. :> You put your cards up on your Trading Post; an LJ post or webpage preferably & once you've done that, you trade them! It's really not hard to understand or get used to. Nothing technical goes on & if there IS something technical, it'll come with instructions. So no worries! ♥
»The Cards
Remember those rectangular images I was just talking about AKA your cards? There are three different types of cards on this site:
Series: These cards consist of random video game images. There are 20 cards in a series set.
Character: These cards are fanart images of various video game characters. 20 cards in a set.
Pairing: Yes, most of us like to pair up video game characters. These sets consist of 10 cards & are worth 2 series or character.
Special: They are singular sets of random games/scenes/events at DS!/whatever comes to mind. There are 10 cards in a special set & each card is worth 2 series or character cards.
Month: Every month, there will be a couple different sets of cards that you can get. Each card is worth 1 & consists of 20 different cards! You get more bonus exp for mastering one of these sets.

»Earning Cards
There are quite a few ways to earn cards here at DS!.
Games: After finishing a game, you get cards!
Contests: Placing in a contest will also get you cards. The higher you place, the more you get.
Quests: If you complete a quest, you will gain cards. The amount varies depending on how hard said quest is.
Forums: I tend to feel generous pretty often, so you will see freebie threads popping up now & then.
Mastering Sets: Mastering a set of 20 cards will get you more cards. Amounts vary depending on the type of set.
Levels: Leveling up will earn you cards and coins depending on your level!
Donations: If you donate a set of badges or deck images, you get lots of cards!
»Mastery
Once you get all 20 cards of a normal/character set or all 10 cards of a special deck, you become a master of that particular set! In order to become a master of a deck, you have to master all five sets in a deck. Whenever you do master something, you get a reward. ;3
Series & Character: Two normal cards of choice, four random normals, one random month, one random coupon, & five star coins
Special & Pairing: One special card of choice, four random normals, one random month, one random special, one random coupon, & five star coins
Month: Two month cards of choice, four random normals, two random months, one random coupon, & five star coins

Levels One-Three: One choice card, 3 random normals, 1 random month, & 5 star coins
Levels Four-Six: Two choice normal cards, 4 random normals, 1 random month, & 5 star coins
Levels Seven-Nine: Two choice card, One choice special, 5 random normals, 1 random special, 2 random months, & 10 star coins
Levels Ten-Twelve: Three choice cards, Two choice specials, 6 random normals, 2 random months, & 20 star coins

»Coupons
Coupons represent a type of set at DS! & can be turned in at the Rhazash Bazaar in the City of DS! for either two random cards or a choice card from that type of set. Here are a few things you need to know about the coupons:
-Special coupons cannot be used to get pairing cards. That's why there is a seperate coupon for pairing cards.
-Month coupons can only be used to get month cards from the month that you turn the coupon in.
-Coupons are for you alone and cannot be traded.
»Star Coins
Star coins are the currency here at DS! They can't be traded but they can be spent at the shops in the City of DS!
= 1 star coin
= 5 star coins
= 10 star coins
= 20 star coins
= 50 star coins
= 100 star coinsHere at DS!, each member gets their own custom made sprite to represent themselves throughout the game. Here are a few examples of what they'll look like:
On your join form, you will see a section that asks for a description of your sprite & one word that describes your personality. (this is used to choose a pose for the sprite) In the description, please make sure to describe their outfit/hairstyle/eyecolor throughly. In the outfit, I need to know what goes on their feet/hands/legs/torso/any accessories, etc. & with the hair, tell me if there are bangs or if the hair is layered. If you would like to add pictures to that section, feel free to link me to some & describe what portion of said picture needs to be on your sprite.
